Art Events & Such

10th Feb 2010: OK, I know I’ve not done a good job updating this page but here we go:

#1 Exhibition: Rolling With The Punchlines at Alliance Francaise, Nairobi [Jan 22-Feb 21 2010]

The cartoons are interesting…and the view they present of political events is refreshing….there’s something about seeing all the text we dive into in papers, the web, magazines etc presented in such a way

#2 Twin Exhibition: Recent paintings by Omosh Kinde & Wilson Mwangi at Le Rustique Restaurant [11 Feb-3 Mar 2010]

I went to see Timothy Brooke’s work on its last day but found these artists’ work up already. Kinde has an interesting style, presenting mostly urban landscapes with some found objects thrown in. Mwangi’s work is beautiful and colourful-use of basic shapes is employed. You’re bound to like either of these artists…or both :)
